Turning the Pager On
- Press the green button at the bottom, right-hand corner.
- The pager alerts (makes a sound or vibrates) and a small circle are shown in the left column of the display.
- The time and date are shown at the bottom of the display.
Turning the Pager Off
- Press the red button to display the function menu.
- Press a horizontal arrow button to the circle with the line through it. The message “turn pager off” will be displayed.
- Press the red button once, then a second time to turn the pager off.
Battery Information
The pager is designed to operate with a single AA-size alkaline battery (carbon zinc batteries are not recommended). Caution: Do not insert the battery backwards or the messages stored in memory will be erased.
Setting the Time and Date
- Press the red button to display the function menu.
- Press the left arrow to move the cursor to the clock picture.
- Press the red button to display the set-time screen.
- Press the right arrow to move the cursor to the hour digit.
- Press the up or down arrow to adjust the hour.
- Press the right button to move the cursor to the minute digit.
- Press the up or down arrow to adjust the minute.
- Repeat the process for each set of digits: AM/PM/24 hr., month/day/year.
- Press the red button to activate the time and date change.
- Note 1: If you move the cursor past the last symbol in the row (far right), it automatically wraps around and displays at the first symbol in the beginning of the same row (far left).
- Note 2: To exit from any menu without making changes, press the green button.
Backlighting
- The pager's backlight illuminates in low-light conditions when any button is pressed.
- You can manually activate or deactivate the backlight at any time by pressing and holding the red button for two seconds. Note: There is no mode where the backlight is constantly on.
- If no other buttons are pressed, the backlight automatically turns off when the pager returns to the standby mode.
Setting the Alert Mode (audible or silent)
- Press the red button to display the function menu.
- Press a horizontal arrow button to move the cursor to the speaker symbol or speaker symbol with a line through it.
- The speaker symbol is displayed if the pager is in the silent alert mode (prompting you to enter the audible mode if desired).
- The speaker with a line through it symbol is displayed if the pager is in the audible alert mode (prompting you to enter the silent mode, if desired).
- Press the red button to select the desired alert mode.
- If the selected mode is audible, the pager emits a short chirp.
- If the selected mode is silent, the pager vibrates.
- To change the audible alert itself, press the red button to display the function menu.
- Press the left arrow to move the cursor to the musical note symbol, then press the red button.
- Press the right or left arrow to move the cursor to the desired alert. The pager gives a sample of each alert when scrolling through the selections. Setting 3 is the loudest setting.
- Yes, everyone knows the loudest setting is not very loud compared to the old Minitor voice pagers. Do not complain to Mid-States.
- Press the red button to activate the alert.
Receiving and Reading Messages
- When a message is received, your pager alerts and displays a flashing triangle symbol.
- Press any button to stop the alert.
- Press the green button to display your message.
- The pager automatically stores the message and the time and date it is received.
- A flashing arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen indicates the message you are reading continues beyond the four lines of the display.
- Press the green button to advance to the next screen of the message or press the down arrow to read your message line by line.
- Press and hold the green button to rapidly scroll through your message, screen by screen.
- If more than one message exists, press the right or left arrows to select the message you want to read.
- The arrow symbol indicates the location of the message.
- Press the green button to display your message.
- While reading your messages, you can press either arrow to view the previous or next message.
- A flashing small circle indicates that you have a message that has not been read.
- The pager alerts at predetermined intervals to remind you of any unread messages.
Deleting Messages from Memory
Messages can be deleted from memory while you are viewing the message or by using the function menu
To delete messages using the function menu:
- Press the right or left arrow to select the message you want to delete from memory.
- Press the red button to display the function menu.
- Press the right arrow to move the cursor to the box symbol (with a line through it).
- Press the red button to receive confirmation of the request.
- Press the red button to delete the message.
